TV WALL MOUNTING
The wall mounting of televisions is now more popular than ever as we all like to free up space either in our living room / bedroom / kitchen / conservatory or man cave.
The mounting of your TV needs to be carried out in a safe way. For this reason we always have two men on site. This helps prevent any damage to your television/wall and surrounding areas.
By far the most popular TV bracket is called a flat to wall type bracket which allows your television to hang on the wall like a mirror or painting. The second most popular TV bracket is a tilting type bracket, which are ideal to mount your television above a high fireplace and tilts down a few degrees for optimum viewing and to save yourself getting neck or eye ache. These brackets are also ideal for bedrooms because you would normally watch your television from a lying down position so the TV is pointing directly at your face.
Another popular bracket is called a full motion TV bracket or otherwise known as an articulating bracket. This type of mount is ideal for the corner of rooms where space may be limited. When we mount this type of wall bracket, we always use a two part resin. We drill the holes to attach the bracket to the wall, then inject the resin into the holes. We then insert the nylon fixings/ raw plugs and inject more resin inside the raw plugs/nylon fixings. We then mount the TV brackets with large screws or bolts and leave around 30 minutes for the resin to set like iron.
Once the television is mounted the fixing of the bracket with the resin injected is as solid as iron and eliminates any movement on the fixing plate in any direction. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of using resin when mounting a full motion TV bracket as we have been back to others work and the bracket and television are ready to fall!
When we mount your television onto the wall, we generally hide all the cables in the wall where necessary. Should you live in a new build property which has a dot and dab type wall, we can usually hide all the cables in the gap behind the wall without any damage to the wall at all.
Also if the wall is a partition wall, again we can usually run in all the cables without any damage to the wall. The most common cable or lead is The HDMI cable which we can supply at various lengths and are all 4K ready. Other types of cables we install could be coaxial for an aerial feed and either cat5e or Cat6 cables. Hard wiring your television from your router give far superior performance should you want to view 4K films from providers such as Netflix, eliminating any buffering or lag.
