INSTALLERS OF FREESAT AND FREESAT HD
Unlike Freeeview and Freeview HD, which both use a TV aerial to receive the signal that goes to either your TV or Freeview box, Freesat works via a satellite dish.
The satellite signal from the company: (Sky) is beamed down to your satellite dish and you can watch similar channels to what Freeview have to offer, and just like Freeview no subscription is required.
Many LED/LCD and plasma TV,s have the Freesat tuner built in.Should your TV not have the Freesat tuner built in,then you will have to purchase a Freesat or Freesat box which are common place in most large supermarkets or electrical outlets.Nowadays you can choose to have a standard box which you connect to your TV by way of a scart lead.
Freeview HD connects to your TV via a HDMI lead.Further on than this a Freesat recordable box can be purchased (also in HD) which gives you the option to record two programmes at the same time and basically you can fast forward/rewind and pause your chosen programmes. It is also possible to build your own library on the hard disc that is built into the recordable Freesat boxes.
What are the benefits of Freesat? The main benefits for Freesat are that if you have had problems with large trees or building which are blocking your TV aerial signal or you may be in a dip, again blocking the TV aerial signal then Freesat is an excellent secondary option.
